Description: ‘Calm in the Storm’ is a piece that captures the quiet strength we find within ourselves when life feels overwhelming. The swirling blues and blacks represent the chaos and turbulence we all encounter, while the serene figure at the center symbolizes the calm we can cultivate amidst the storm. This painting holds a deeply personal meaning for me. It was created during a time when I was navigating my own challenges, and it reflects the resilience and peace I found within. The textured hessian adds depth and rawness, while the silver leaf brings light and hope. Charcoal, drawn from fire, adds a layer of transformation, symbolising the beauty that can emerge from adversity. ‘Calm in the Storm’ is a reminder that even in life’s most challenging moments, there is a stillness within us that we can return to. It’s not just about weathering the storm but coming back to our centre to ground us. This painting is part of my broader collection, which explores themes of resilience, identity and the untold stories that shape us. My art is about more than creating visually striking pieces; it’s about connecting with raw emotion and inviting viewers to reflect on their own experiences. Whether through bold abstracts, serene landscapes, or intimate works like this, I aim to create pieces that resonate deeply and spark meaningful conversations.
